The Finding Your Path series launched into the abundant world of contemporary Christian romance. This, my first series, intertwines themes of faith, love, redemption, and personal growth. After several years of creating storylines and compelling characters, the journey is complete. This article offers a peek into the series as a whole, its key themes, characters, and what readers can expect from its dramatic finale.

A Journey of Faith and Love

The Finding Your Path series follows the lives of four couples as they navigate the complexities of love, faith, and personal growth in the rural outskirts of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Each book interweaves romance, family dynamics, and a search for spiritual understanding, in relatable and engaging situations.

Each couple has unique struggles, but the heart of the series shows how faith affects our decisions, relationships, and life paths. Whether it's through risking your heart, challenging your prejudices, or personal crises, the series ultimately emphasizes the necessity of surrendering your plans to the Lord’s guidance.

Jingle Jenny book
A tale of rebuilding, where Jenny and Al find faith and love amid life’s setbacks.

In one word, the main theme in Jingle Jenny is rebuilding. Both Jenny Bell and Al Shepherd are going through the process of rebuilding their life circumstances, faith, and in a real physical sense, their homes.

In Search of the Shepherd book
A journey through spiritual struggles as Heather and Jake wrestle with faith and love.

The main theme in In Search of the Shepherd is Spiritual Struggle. While Jake struggles with misconceptions of theology that affect his faith, Heather struggles with choosing faith over the possibility of a love match.

Slowly Falling book
A story of self-discovery where Maggie and James learn to embrace their true selves.

Slowly Falling focuses on the theme of Finding Yourself. Maggie Jensen has suppressed her identity out of fear and complacency. James McPherson is forced through outside influences to form a new identity of himself.

Repeating History book
A heartfelt lesson in forgiveness as Audrey and Robert confront their past to find hope.

Forgiveness is the main theme of Repeating History. Audrey Burns needs to learn to forgive and move past her fear to find her way back to faith. Robert Jefferies struggles first and foremost with forgiving himself but also needs to forgive others in his life.

The couples interact and help each other throughout the series. Follow their paths and join the journey of faith as they grow and become more Christ-like.

Characters That Resonated

One of the key strengths of the "Finding Your Path" series lies in its relatable characters. Each protagonist reflects real-life struggles and triumphs that resonate with readers. Each character's arc is not only about finding romantic love but also about self-discovery and deepening one's relationship with God.

Let's take a closer look at some of the characters from the series:

Jenny Bell

A spirited, newly graduated horticulturist whose faith is tested through unemployment and physical injury. Jenny’s journey resonates with readers who have faced the need to rebuild their own lives.

Al Shepherd

A rancher turned farmer whose troubled past makes trusting in love a challenge. Al’s transformation from a life of fear to one of trust and love challenges those who hold onto the past.

Heather Moore

Struggles with feeling loved and wanted. Just when she finds love, her faith is challenged. Her story illustrates the importance of communication, faith, and commitment to the Lord.

Jake Shepherd

The rancher whose past pain causes conflict with his family’s beliefs. Jake’s character serves as a poignant reminder of the doctrine of redemption and the importance of equality of faith in relationships.

Maggie Jensen

A high school secretary and former missionary who has become complacent. Sorrow and disappointment color her relationships and cripple her motivation. Being faced with her prejudices she finds herself in need of a makeover.

James McPherson

An introverted history nerd is forced to redefine himself because of circumstances that are out of his control. James’s situation resonates with readers who feel powerless to control the outcome of their lives.

Audrey Burns

A woman in a life crisis who has lost the ability to trust the Lord. Her situation and struggles are complex, allowing those who feel overwhelmed with problems to find hope in her journey.

Robert Jefferies

A new believer, is paying the consequences of past actions and decisions. His response to trials can inspire other believers, both old and new.

Thematic Depth

Final Thought and a Peek into the Next Series

The completion of the "Finding Your Path" series marks the end of the road for readers who have followed these characters on their inspiring journeys. The characters have experienced both the joys and challenges of love and faith in today's world. As readers turn the final pages of "Repeating History", they can reflect on the growth, love, and lessons shared throughout the series. Though the story may conclude, my prayer is that the reflections and insights gained from this beloved series will continue to inspire and resonate for years to come.

For those who seek romance infused with faith and the promise of hope, follow some minor characters from "Finding Your Path" as they move from Massachusetts to Montana in my next series titled Moving to Montana.

First out is Alex from the Bridge Builders in a book with the working title “Rancher, Baker, Family Maker”. Follow Alex as he learns of love that yields growth, a journey where every twist and turn leads to an ultimately compelling destination.
